Muboora – ZimTuckshop Recipes

Sadza and MubooraPeople love muboora. Muboora is delicious, but sometimes being far from home makes one forget recipes of some things they love the most! And you know how it is, when you go back home to visit- you are running around visiting and enjoying seeing friends and family…who has time to sit down and relearn how to cook muboora? – ahhh hapana sha!. Due to popular demand here is a ZimTuckshop way of cooking muboora. The recipe is tried and tested, even though it doesn’t have real quantities for ingredients (our mothers taught us how to eye ball well hehehe). Try it and leave a review on facebook 🙂

Steps

  1. Soak 1 packet of dried muboora in cold water for about 10+ minutes
  2. While muboora is soaking, dice 1 tomato and half an onion and set aside
  3. Place a pot of water (about 1 & 1/2 cup) and bring water to boil.
  4. Put some bicarb of soda in boiling water (~1/2 tablespoon)
  5. Drain muboora and place in the boiling pot
  6. Immediately add diced onion and tomato plus a bit of oil 1-1 1/2 teaspoon oil, salt to taste (to the muboora plus water)
  7. Leave to boil, turning constantly until soft (onions and tomatoes must really be broken down when its all done). You can add water and more soda if need be during the last boiling phase…just make sure you dont add too much water such that you have loads of soup. If you do though, just keep the stuff boiling till it is a little lower. If you taste and the muboora feels course you can add a pinch of soda because the soda is meant to break down the rough muboora.
  8. If peanut butter is desired-add some 🙂

Enjoy!!
